Anyone can build a website, but making it successful with significant traffic can take a lot of research. Over the years, we’ve grown several of our client’s websites to nearly 10,000 visits each month targeting their local area. We launched a newly designed website the beginning of this year and we were amazed to see how quickly it gained thousands of visits to each post. There’s an art to increasing a blog’s traffic, and given that we seem to have stumbled on some of that knowledge, I felt it compulsory to give back by sharing what we’ve observed.

Make Your Content Irresistible

  1. content is kingAll the promotion in the world won’t build a thriving audience if your content is not there. Truly incredible content, products or services can be your best marketing tool. Everything you do online has to start with creating something incredible.
  2. Don’t be afraid to say what everyone else is thinking but not saying. Other people are probably thinking about it too, and they’ll love you for being brave enough to say something.
  3. While you’re at it, make a real case for why the world should actually care about what you have to say. You want to be an influencer. You want to build a community. You want to help people make a positive change in the world.
  4. Put your words in a different format. Go visual. Try creating an info-graphic or slide-share presentation.
  5. Go big. Write something so incredibly thorough and valuable that people are compelled to share it.
  6. Interview someone exciting. You’ll learn something and the interviewee will probably share your session if you do a great job.
  7. Learn how to create a viral post, and try creating one yourself as many of our readers like Maria, Benny, Steve and Jim have done.
  8. Cut out the fluff. Publish when you have something worthwhile to share, not when your calendar says you’re supposed to publish.
  9. Headlines! Headlines! Headlines! They’re ridiculously important. Enough said.
